DESCRIPTION
The slender specimen emphasises the contrast between the natural outer rock and the ordered crystal structure. The geode formed from amethyst subjected to thermal treatment; the warm colour is produced by iron compounds, including goethite and hematite. Chalcedony is also present in the material, and its estimated age is around 240 million years.
Due to the smaller scale, the object can be displayed on a console, plinth, shelf or within bespoke joinery.
